The goal of the Akola Project is to empower widows to learn crafts that sustain themselves and their communities. The UAPO has created a small-scale business environment where widows make necklaces and bags that are sold in the states and local markets. The vision of the project is to use sales revenues to expand the project throughout Uganda so that other widows will have the chance to learn a trade and make wages to support their families and needy children in Uganda.
